Parents & Kids

We enthusiastically encourage parents to bring their children, of any age! This page covers information of particular relevance to parents. Also, if there’s any accommodation that could provide further ease and enjoyment for your family, please do let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

The wedding is a daytime event and officially ends before sunset, partly so that parents won’t have to manage a late bedtime. Sunset is a little after 8pm that day, and the wedding day will wrap up around 7pm, or a little after. We will also understand if you need to leave earlier, or if you need to leave for part of the day and come back. See the schedule page for more details.

The venue has three little cabins a short walk away from the event space. One of them is being made available for luggage storage, and another is being made available as a retreat space if kids (or anyone, really) need a nap or a quieter setting for a bit. There are 4 sets of bunkbeds, for 8 beds in total (twin bed on top, full bed on bottom).

There will be plenty of indoor and outdoor amusements that kids would enjoy, such as family-restaurant-style kids’ activity sheets at the tables, a scavenger hunt, bubbles, and more! For very young kids, do be aware of potential choking hazards at the jigsaw puzzle table and boardgames table.

There is one fully private family restroom with a door, which includes a changing table.

The venue has one high chair available, and we are looking to see if we can borrow or rent more. We’ll update this page as we know more! Please feel free to bring anything of yours that makes it easier to feed your child — favorite bowls, cups, cutlery, etc. There will be food available at the start of the event (suitable for a light lunch), plus a catered dinner. We will post a page soon with the wedding day menu. There is also a refrigerator and microwave available to you for milk or personal food items.

Most of all, please know that we fully expect a measure of unpredictability, noise, and mess to do with young kids! It is well worth it to us — we want all of our favorite people to be at our wedding, and that includes your kids. We are quite used to children of varying ages and temperaments and would like to think we have realistic expectations. We intend to embrace it all, and hope we can help to put you at ease.
